Description: The Risk Assessment of Berau Regency 2020-2024 has identified nine disaster threats, particularly floods, strong winds, landslides, and forest fires, posing significant risks despite a moderate community readiness index (0.6) and low regional resilience (0.4). With 103 villages in Berau at risk of flooding and potential economic losses estimated at 176.14 trillion IDR, efforts to enhance local capacity are crucial. The SIGAP program aims to boost community productivity in areas surrounding social forestry regions and strengthen conservation efforts, supporting endeavors to ensure sustainable livelihoods, especially in flood-prone areas like Kampung Merasa and Kampung Long Beliau facing increasing intensity. Proactive, participatory, inclusive disaster management coupled with ensuring business sustainability and supported by microfinance initiatives are vital to mitigate damages, losses, and ensure sustainable livelihoods for all community members, particularly for sustainable commodity business groups. |
