Kajian Kondisi Sosial, Ekonomi dan Kerentanan Masyarakat didalam Kawasan Konservasi dan Wilayah Kelola Masyarakat Hukum Adat |
Description: Southwest Papua Province, which is a new autonomous region from West Papua Province, has Marine Protected Area (MPA) spread across each of its coastal Regency. The Northern Misool, which is a new MPA, was designated by the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries at the end of 2023, as well as MPA Maksegara, which is still in the process of being allocated by the Governor. Apart from that, there are also around 16,000 Ha of Customary Law Community (CLC) areas, one of which is Moi CLC in Malaumkarta Raya in Sorong Regency and Byak Karon CLC in Werur Raya, Tambrauw Regency. The benefits of MPA management are to ensure that biodiversity can receive protection through a balanced ecosystem, so that it is free from the threat of extinction; and provide economic benefits to the surrounding community. To measure the extent to which the economic benefits of managing MPA and CLC management areas are met, it is necessary to carry out a series of surveys to determine trends in social, economic, and cultural conditions as well as the condition of vulnerability of coastal communities. |
