Southwest Papua is the sixth province on the island of Papua which was split from West Papua Province in 2022. This province does not yet have a definite policy regarding Regional Spatial Planning including RZWP-3-K, even though West Papua Province as the parent province already has a 2022 RTRW Regional Regulation. It is necessary to carry out initiatives to preparation marine spatial planning (RZWP3K) which will prioritize investment through consideration of the development of Marine Protected Area, both existing and under planning. The implementation series in this activity aims to a) Provide technical support to the Government of Southwest Papua Province to develop a policy framework for the RZWP3K & b) Facilitate processes towards establishing conservation areas in the waters of Southwest Papua Province.
